Only an ignorant moron would make a comment like that.
Obviously you know nothing of the pain and suffering a transsexual has to endure everyday - trying to live everyday as something they are not, and then once they take steps to correct the deformity they were born with, they have to deal with biggots like you.
Did you ever question your gender? Probably not. Most people dont have to question their gender. But for those that do have to question gender, life is tough.
First of all, that person must accept themselves for who they are, which is difficult. Do you think that a person wakes one morning and says, gee, i think i want to try life as the other gender. It doesnt happen that way. Transsexuals spend years in denial, trying to fit into your world, before they learn to have the courage necessary to start transitioning to be who they really are.
You probably dont accept yourself for who you are which is why you find the need to judge others.
I would rather be a transsexual who had undergone gender reassignment surgery and be able to accept myself and love myself, than be like you and hate being the person i am.
Bet you didnt know, the average transsexual is more intelligent and more educated than you. Doesnt that ruffle your feathers.
Mentally ill? Transsexuals are probably more sane than anyone else on this world.

I don't really know enough about sex changes or psychology to answer this, but I will say I think a lot of it has to do with a fetish (not saying there's anything wrong with it, just saying ...). I personally know I'd never do it, but wasn't it something like 30 years ago that homosexuality was classified as a mental illness? Who knows how much longer it will be until transgendered individuals get the same changing view in psychology, if and when of course.

It takes a person of complete ignorance to think being transsexual is a mental illness. a transsexual suffers from a condition that started in the womb. all fetuses are first female. it is only after a period of time that the male chromosome is introduced. for some that takes place after the brain has already been conditioned as female.
Transsexuals have to live their life in hiding trying to fit into society. due to the bigotry that you have expressed in your question.
as one person also pointed out. the average transsexual has a higher intelligence than what a person like you would call "normal people". LOL, i bet that makes a bigot like you mad knowing that most of us transsexuals are smarter than you.
I do have a suggestion for you. before letting the world know just how ignorant you are. Perhaps you should do a bit of research on what it is that has you questioning someones mental state.
Perhaps it is you who happens to suffer from a mental illness. Don't be shy about it. embrace your paranoia and have a wonderful day

Yes they likely are. If you are born a male and an imbalance causes you to desire to be a female, odds are you have a mental disorder. Homosexuality is a mental disorder. People and animals are meant to keep themselves alive and procreate. Life keeps life going. If feelings exist which go against this, then something is chemically wrong.
I don't see how there can be an argument against that. Now I used suicidal behaviour as an example. Not everyone who commits suicide has a mental disorder. Normally you aren't born suicidal, it develops due to extreme sadness. Those who are born with such behaviour are often bipolar. Bipolar disorder can be treated. It is also a chemical imbalance, from what I know.
I don't understand why homosexuality is accepted. It should be researched, and someone should develop a cure. Unnatural things seem to weaken the human race. Using medicine itself has collectively weakened our immune systems. Clothing has made us unable to deal with harsh climates, compared to others. Most unnatural things have negative consequences. Essentially, homosexuality is absolutely pointless. To repeat, it must be a mental disorder. Don't hate them, see them as diseased. Pity them. If they don't want to be cured, ignore them. But know that it is unnatural, and that is undebatable.
Are some animals gay? Yes? Do animals get diseases? Yes.
I'm sorry if I got off topic, I just don't understand the movement to accept them and legitimize their claim to equality. Acceptance for the sake of acceptance, not logic. Fuuuuuck.

I don't agree with that. Sometimes when a male is born he may act like a female from the start. It goes deeper than mental illness. At first I thought like you but when I educated myself more on the subject I was able to see it from a different point of view. It's too easy to say "they are mentally ill".

I'll never forget how I felt when Dr. Richard Radskin became Renee Richards. I learned about it from a Sports Illustrated article back in the 70's. It is disgusting and horrifying that someone would go that far. It must be a mental defect but that is merely my opinion.

Your using "mentally ill" in the sense that "there's something wrong with them." Fine. That's your sense of values at work. However, being transgendered alone does not even come close meeting any serious medical definitions of mental illness.

They are mentally distressed, so i suppose i agree with you.
Though i think that your question was meant to be degrading.
Ask yourself, if you had the mind of one sex, and the body of another, wouldnt that drive you mad???
The operation is meant to and usually does, make the person feel whole or correct thus relieving the "illness'

That is a really harsh way of looking at it. You are a man not simply because of your penis correct? Isn't is something that is you, everything you do, every fiber of your being? Now imagine that you felt exactly as you do now about being a man, but were born with a vagina. These people are changing the outside to fit the inside. It is a birth defect, pure and simple.

I disagree. How can you possibly say this? Do you have a mental examination of everyone who has ever had a sex change? How about accepting people for who they are, however they want to live their lives.
