I know this is as old hat as the awful hats Camilla wears, but I wonder why people accept her and Charles so easily. No matter what anyone thinks of Diana, the truth is that she was a young girl decieved from the get go.

The royal family used Diana as a brood mare while Prince Charles and his horse-faced old mistress romped in the sack. No wonder Diana turned into neurotic wreck. What do you think of Charles and Camilla?

I think that the Royal Family has a lot to ask for. Instead of letting Charles just be happy with the person he wanted to they prolonged it for years and it turned out worse.

I think Diana was the sacrifical virgin. I mean it's sad she got sucked into it. I'm not to sure what she saw in him at all but maybe it is the fairytale thing.

I think that it has bought more dissent and unpopularity to the Royal Family in the way they handle things. Instead of being a little disgraced and letting him marry the divorcee he wanted they totally and utterly disgraced themselves in the way that the Diana facade was handled and all the adultery etc and then lets him do it anyway.

I think if they'd succumbed and let him marry her first there would not be such a downcast on the Royals.

One answer or comment suggested a fairy tale life, and in a great many ways the life of those marrying into royalty live for a bit that fairytale life.

We can all question what "could have been" but the bottom line is that it takes two to tango and both Charles and Diana had thier own faults and problems. When they both spoke out publicly it rocked the royal family. When Diana was killed...not only did the Windsors mourn in thier own way, but in many ways we mourned with them and continue to do so each September.

But time goes on.

According to several royal watchers Camilla obeyed the whole distance thing for some time before re-kindling her almost 30yr romance with the Prince.

In many ways and for many people both Charles and Camilla both have what they have wanted since day 1...each other. Camilla will never be Queen, but hold the same post that Prince Philip holds...Consort, and I think that both the Heir and his consort can "live with that".

I beleive we need to give them some space...to see if they can grow beyond how we see them. We don't realy know Camilla's full story, and like the question of who did what that caused Diana's death, we may never know all the answers on this side of the grave..but not knowing creates a lot of questions we can only debate about.

They are now legally married...and hopefully living the life they both wanted. Let's see what time and history has in store for them.

I totally agree with you. Diana was 19 when she and Charles became engaged, and the only reason why they married was because Charles was pressured to find the last virgin in Britain to marry so that he could produce an heir. It's no wonder that Diana became a bulimic and made several suicide attempts. However, I also have to say that I sort of feel sorry for Charles and Camilla. Think about it. Can you imagine being kept from the person you truly love, because that person is married and the law prevents you from succeeding to the throne if you marry a divorced person? Also, Charles was pressured to find a virgin to marry so that he could produce an heir. He was 32 when he married Diana. One of the reasons why they had so little in common was their age gap. And what would have been the likelihood that Charles could have found a virgin who was closer to his own age and with whom he would have had more in common? Don't get me wrong. I think that what Charles and the rest of the royal family did to Diana was wrong, but I can still see both sides of it.

Most people realize that life is too short to hold grudges, Many see Charles and Camilla as victims just as Diana was. They were all victims of an antiquated system that required Charles to marry a virgin.

I think that if Charles had been allowed to marry Camilla in the first place, Diana wouldn't have suffered as she did.

He's a cheat, and she's a home wreaker. Neither one of them would know fedelity if it bite them in the butt. Both of them were messing around while they were married to other people, they did not care who they hurt in the process. It was no wonder that Diana questioned her worth, it must have been a hard reality to see her dream life shattered, and know there wasn't a damn thing she could do about it. For that reason alone, I don't critize her for trying to find love and comfort outside of her marriage.

Diana will always be the most admired of them all of the Windsor clan as far as the royals go-and THAT they probably didn't count on. William and Harry are good-looking and classy young men thanks to her genetic input. As far as Charles and Camilla-life is short and it really doesn't matter to anyone anymore what Charles does. Live and let live as they say.

Because people move on. It's easier to accept when it's not somebody you actually know.

In my opnion, whatever makes you happy makes me happy. Diana knew what she was getting into and let's be honest, we all knew about Camilla so since we've known for so long it's like "finally". Now we can all talk about the giant pink elephant.

The both guilty. Diana is the victim of a dishonest husband and was really abused in all ways.
Camilla is quiet lucky woman even if she is so ugly.
Well, this is the life.
Sometimes, people get what they don't deserve, and others don't get what they deserve.
