One of my closest friends since high school has turned into this huge mooch. She also whines about things all the time. In the past I've just distanced my self from her for about a month or two but lately I've just plain out ignored her, I love her and her son but I just can't support them.

Be honest, even though it could hurt some feelings, but be honest and tell her how you have been feeling and how you don't appriciate her mooching off of you all the time. Like you said, mention that you love her and her son very much, but that it is not YOUR PLACE to be supporting them. If she starts nagging at you and saying that she does not mooch off of you, be honest and tell her everything and everytime when she has done it. Honesty is always the best answer.

I think honesty is your best bet..... Sit down and talk to her.... start out with the fact that you love her. Let her know it's hard tø see her whine all the time, and how you feel she is using your friendship to take advantage of you, and if thinging don't change, that will be the end of relationship.

Stand up for your rights, and tell her that you cannot deal with her ways anymore. Otherwise, just continue to distance yourself, and ignore her. Hopefully, she'll get the hint.
