1. Right click on your desktop and select Properties
2. In the Display Properties dialog box, choose the Appearance tab
3. Click the Advanced button
4. In the Advanced Appearance dialog box, select Icon from the Item drop down
5. Enter a new smaller size.
6. Click OK to close the Advanced Appearance dialog
7. In the Display Properties dialog box, click Apply. The screen will update and display the new icon size. You can click the Advanced button again to adjust again if desired.
8. Click OK to close the Display Properties dialog box
9. Enjoy!

right click on desktop go to properties and look for the desktop icons section. I suggest to keep it clean to use the quick launch setting on your toolbar. it keeps the icons you want and leaves to others on the desktop , also i hide my desktop icons by right clicking again and go to Arrange ICONS by: and look for something about hiding them.

On your desk top right click and scroll down to properties click the appearance tab and down the bottom it should say font size and then choose you size.

Change your monitor resolution. Try 1028x1024 if your monitor has that setting.
