The truth is no we dont .....on his day this boy can be magic but hes never been as he was in France 98...if he hits form he can score against anyone but the fact was before he did in his knee he wasnt fit and wasnt on form england could have played without him then and will be fine without him now...the trouble is who replaces him...thats where defoe sould have fitted in..svens big mistake...England will miss him if he was due to hit some form but we have a good enough squad to make up for him!

It's supposed to be a team game isn't it?
I think this obsession with stars is tedious!
If you believe the media the England football team revolves around Rooney, Owen and Beckham and no one else plays a part!
There are always going to be occasions when a star player can't be played and a good team has to accept this and move on.
why can't people accept this?
How did Greece Win the euro championship if stars are so important?

no owen was playing rubbish up and till he was injured england dont need him we have rooney who is better and crouch as well lennon to bring on from the bench no we dont need owen we will win the world cup without him come on england

No, he'd be blooming useful, but we have a strong team anyway. As long as Sven wakes up and smells the hooligans, Hargreaves sucks, we have players such as Crouch and Lennon that can do what Hargreaves does 250 times better with their eyes closed!

I think we do. Now all we're left with is 3 strikers, the tall striker, the not fully fit striker and the baby striker. i felt so sorry for him though.
