Johnny Depp is one of the all time great actors! He transforms himself for each roll. You forget you are watching Johnny Depp and he becomes who he is portraying.

Most girls think he is "hot" so I guess it doesn't matter if he's a good actor or not in the eyes of a woman. But he was pretty comedic in Pirates Of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl. The one movie by him that kind of scared me though was Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. My niece who is ten had nightmares from all the Umpalupas (don't know how to spell that) and the way he was dressed.

I agree he is pretty brilliant and more than just an attractive actor - there's depth and charisma to him. He is very multi-dimension adn even for the people that do not like him, you have to agree that as an actor he keeps it interesting by always going against the grain - whether its playing Willy Wonka or Gilbert Grape or Edward Scissorhands - not many actors, young or old, can admit to that. At the end of his career, and I wish him a VERY LONG career, he will be celebrated for being a cut above the rest.

i like him not because he's "HOT" but because he's the most "HUMAN" actor in Hollywood today. he admits all his mistakes and flaws, he's extremely private, he does what he does purely because of the "WORK" and "ART", he genuinely cares about his 'employers', and he's very protective of his private life. when u go through his body of work, u can really feel his passion oozing from the screen. i have never seen any actor OF HIS GENERATION possess such great and commanding screen presence like JD does. it's really admirable u know the way Hollywood can never pin him down. his choices are really bold. and i can safely say all his movies would never have survived without him. eg: Secret Window - he's the only actor on the planet that could play that part as interesting as he did. i have always admired JD, ever since the days of Edwards Scissorhands, and i do wish for people to stop liking him solely for his looks, but admire him as a very gifted and talented actor.

I love him in Pirates of the Caribbean... best movie ever. That movie would still be good without him, but he adds the extra "thing" the movie needs to make it my favorite.

there is no one else like him. he is such an amazing actor and like you said, even when the movie line is horrible, he makes it great. johnny is also really sweet. he always signs all of his fans' autographs and he is greatly appreciative of his fans. he's a wonderful person.

I'm amazed at his ability to totally change himself for different parts. He's different in every film and seems to immerse himself completely in the character.
