Yes, the person at the top of the list probably got back more than he put in...however, this type of thing only succeeds if everyone falls for it.
Stay away, they are scams and you will never get more than what you put into it...if that.
Save your money. These things are illegal in many areas, just as the one about opening your bank account to someone in another country who is going to deposit x number of dollars into it. Instead, your money disappears.
Too good to be true? It probably is...best and safest way to look at it.

It only works if you trick stupid but honest people into participating. If they are smart, they won't do it, if they are not honest, they'll take your name off the list and put fake names on, and then collect the takings from the false addresses they used.
