Go to Home, click on your name, this brings you to a page My Q&A. Click Edit my info, which opens a page Edit My Profile. You can change your nickname, you can use a picture or create an Avatar.

Im not EXACTLY sure butI think you have to click on the gray smiley face.When you sign into your mail click on the the smiley face.It worked for me.I hope this helps.

i had a lot of fun making my avatar at yahoo avatars. very easy to use with a wide variety of options.
