Race shouldn't be a factor, but there's a lot of bigotry and ignorance out there. I am Mexican and my wife is White, she is actually from south carolina and i'm from East Los Angeles, CA. So far living in south carolina, i have not experienced any problems. Ocational dirty looks from whites, but i think it's jelousy mainly, that a mexican took a women of theirs away you now what i mean. I think if you love each other, race or ethnicity has little to do with the relationship.

I think the couple has to deal with the perceptions very carefully. I admit, I have a tendency to find myself starring at interracial couples. Then I feel bad, because I'm sure they're thinking that I disapprove, but in all actuality, I'm feeling the exact opposite. I'm amazed and intrigued. I think blends are beautiful; those couplings tend to produce HOT daughters ;). But on a serious note, I envy the open-mindedness a couple like that has, as well as the strenght they have to persevere the challenges they have to deal with in their relationship, in crossing the culture barriers between themselves as well as society's perception of their relationship.

I am married to an black man and live in GA, surprisingly I get more attitude from black women than anything. I don't let it bother me, but it doesn't happen that often anyway. We have 4 boys and they do great in society as interracial children. No problems there like people think.
