hmmm, i'd be on the phone in a minute. just call the personnel or payroll dept and tell them that you're not a Rockefeller and could use the money. all they have to do is stop payment on the first check and issue another one.
most of the payroll departments i've worked with have been really nice folks who would bend over backwards to help you out with a situation like this.
if it were me, and i believe that Newman off the Seinfeld show is a perfect example of the US Postal Service Employee---i would have them cut a replacement check and hold it and then i would drive down and pick it up.
it would give you a chance to say hi or whatever. and you wouldn't have to rely on Newman to deliver your check.

Hi! A friend went through something similar.I think they are lying to you. They just don't want to pay you and are hoping you'd forget about that last check. This is common, unfortunetly.Inform them that you're filing with the DLSE.
www.dir.ca.gov
Fill out the form and mail it to your local office. It is the law, that they must pay you, the day you are discharged, quit etc. They owe you your total daily pay for each day they are overdue in paying you, for up to 30 days. If they did send you your check (which I doubt)it will show logged in their books/payroll.If they didn't, they will owe you a bit of money at the very least. Go get them, girl! Good luck!

Call your previous employer and let them know you never received your check. Then let them know you will be contacting the State of California Dept of Industrial Relations (Labor Board)to file a claim for wrongfully withholding your last paycheck. You can find their numbers in your local phone book in the government pages.

You should have gotten it when you left, even if it's before the next pay period.
Call the Accounting office, tell them to give you the check #, date, amount, where it was mailed to, and when it was mailed.
Then have them check with their bank to see if the check has cleared.
If it hasn't cleared & you don't have it by Friday. I would tell them to stop-payment & reissue the check & you can pick it up rather then have them mail it. You've been patient enough.

Contact the HR and Payroll dept of the company inform them that the check never arrived. They should have a proceedure for handling situations like this. There is no reason it should have have come by now.

It should be there for you. Go get it. Tell them you want another check cut and when you get the mailed check you will give it back or destroy it. Check the mailing address payroll has for you.

You need to call them and ask when they mailed it. If it's been more than 2 wks ask them to reissue the check either by mail or you will go pick it up (if you can/want to).

In general, employers have 3 business days to get you your check. Go in and ask for it in 3 business days or you will report them.
