Personally i think Macs are for grown ups.
- My Mac has never crashed.
- Networking is a snap.
- Every piece of hardware i own (camera, film camera, zip drives, printers, etc.) have all worked seamlessly with my Mac.
- All the Professional programs are made for Macs, not PC's (Adobe, Macromedia, Final Cut Pro, Pro Tools, etc.)
- Most of the other programs have Mac versions
- My Mac is faster than any PC i've sat down at (except a few self-built models)
- The OS is much more user friendly.
- Utilities are easy to manage and customize.
- The Native Programs kick anything Windows offers

I could go on. I don't care if you have a PC, but I don't like all these PC people answering negatively to valid Mac questions. It seems to me the only reasons you hate Macs is because you can't play those stupid games (which most of them, YOU CAN) and you can't download illegal files at most sharing sites.

Grow up.

People badmouth Macs because in the Darwinian system we live in the IBM PC is considered to be the fittest. However most of the problems you mention are software so blame Microsoft.
As to why the PC is the fittest the main reason is probably the fact that IBM made the PC open design (so other people can copy it) while apple kept the Mac closed design. However you may notice that while the PC stuck around to a greater extent than the Mac, IBM practically disappeared while Apple is still around.

They mainly do it because they don't really know how to use a Mac, or there experience with Macs are from the mid ninties. I got my first Mac in 1994 and at this time Apple was having a really hard time making good systems, everything in that system had to be replaced atleast twice within the first year.

Myself I currently can not use a Mac for what I do but for anyone that is not very computer litterate I will always tell them a Mac is the best way to go, and many of them did not like that at first but after they had it for about a month many of them couldn't be happier, even if was just because they did not get the system bogged down with spyware.

I personally will not say what is better, PC or Mac, what I will say is there is deffently a place for both or them. For many people PC's are the only way to go, even though for some this is only because they have never actually used a Mac. Others Mac is by far superior, for just as many reasons some people might think the PC is.

They just don't know any better and carry on with OLD information, like problems sharing work file (not true for most common applications) networking problems (not true, got Pentiums and Macs on the same network) etc.

I have been working for big tech companies like Motorola and Intel, and there is LOTS of mac users on the floors.

I work on PCs all day, when I come home I want my mac: no headaches!

People like what they learn on. It is extremely difficult to teach people different ways of doing things or even the concept "the right tool for the right job"

Mac's are also linux now so some really high end unix utilities can be run on them, but that is mostly for the system admin people. But Mac's are not just for people that are 'not very good' with computers

Macs are excellent, but people are use to PC type machines. All PC mags rate Apples and Macs better than any PC machine. Unfortunately, PC's control 90 % of the market.

Macs are difficult to work with because they only work with Macs. The upside to this is stability. Mac keeps a nice firm grip on what Mac users do with their Macs. Macintosh's control over it's domain feels sort of tight to some people who don't want more freedom in there OS.

Uhhhh, I have both PCs and Macs. The main issue is both are just machines and Mac folks tend to gloss over the realities and become zealots. See below for what you WON'T read in the Apple press.

I'm forced to use a mac at school. They are terrible computers. They are always freezing on me. The teacher said next semester they are switching back to PCs.

Old dogs and new tricks, that's all. Apple came back like what! and some never really caught on with the hype.

I'm with you, and think the simple, clean design is reason enough to use em.
