You need to realize you can't buy everything. Having what you have is better than having nothing.

Quit watching television! Make a list of what you have. Mind you, this doesn't have to be a list of possessions - you could list good friends, a sense of humor, a loving spouse, beautiful trees or flowers you see on the way to work, having a job, having a computer, having a body that is totally functional, etc... Comparing yourself (or what you have) to other people is a waste of time. Television is a tool corporations use to talk people into buying stuff they don't actually need to be happy.

Take a look at how small u are in comparision of the universe u r smaller than an ant then take a look at less fortunate people and who they live life to the fullest. It will put everything in perspective. Live life fot the moment and not 4 wot it u want it 2 be!

Wow this is SO my question. I'm poor by most people's standards, I don't have a lot of "stuff", never have had. But I still donate a lot to charity. I really got into this during Hurricane Katrina. I just ask myself, "Would this mean more to someone else than it does to me?" And if it's yes, then you give it up.
I went to N.O. with the Red Cross, and saw people who had lost everything, and it's how I knew how very little I needed just to be happy.
"You gotta give it up if you wanna get it back".

When you realise that whay tou have is worth having and that what you crave for may not bring happiness. It's part of the human condition to want what we haven't got, learning to accept our lot takes time and experience. The grass is not always greener on the other side.

Mind you once accepted, life becomes much more relaxed.

It's all about your thoughts. You need to actively think that this is what I have got what would I do if I lost it. Don't wit till you lose it to appreciate it, by then it's too late. Start now, a little at a time, when you find yourself thinking anything bab about it..... stop and tell yourself no......... this is a good thing i have and i don't want to lose it.

life can be simple or complicated, I have found a good way to be content is asking yourself the following question, Do I want it, or Do I need it. and when you can answer that for yourself then you will hopefully feel more content, and as a matter of interest it is also the secret to looking after your money. do i want it or do i need it. sounds the same but there is a vast difference.

Take up meditation, it will teach you to fully appreciate each moment, without grasping for more, and without fearing change and loss.

There are plenty of resources on the internet about how to do it, and it will be worth every moment that you put into it.

hang out with people who have a lot less, and have absolutely not a chance of ever even being where you are. You can only ever appreciate how high you are flying when you look down and see how far you can fall.

Very simple: be poor. Worked for me and my family! Go on a trip to a third world country and sleep on a straw mat for a month or so. Bathe in a river, no electricity, no car....you will love your life afterwards.
