Maybe you can volunteer to read to someone older. Or babysit for someone when they need to go do errands , so they won't have to take the children.. THAT way, you can volunteer when YOU want to, or, say yes, if they ask you.
You don't have to do it for pay, just favors. "Cause, honey, what GOES around,COMES around

If I had a driver's license, and I lived a couple of houses down from yours, I'd hop in my car and drive you to my chiropractor. I advocate for him and that care because it works for me. I know first hand what it felt like to have a really severe back problem, and ONE visit cleared it out and it has never returned. Until I can get my license and bring you to him to get fixed, you will have to use an ice pack and put it on for twenty to twenty-five minutes an hour about four times a day. This will bring down the inflammation and swelling inside and when the parts can move a little easier because they have more room in there, you will feel a little less uncomfortable. I strongly encourage you to try chiropractic. ONE visit will tell you why I am so strong on it. Until you get this under control and can claim your life back once again, I am sending you a big load of love and hugs and the hope you will have a wonderful summer, no matter what! Sent with lots of good energies from Chris in South Portland, Maine, U.S.A. (I am 63 years old.)

There are lots of home based businesses that you could try. Some of them require a nice little investement, but some of them don't. Try looking into The Pampered Chef if you love to cook. It's very inexpensive to get started too (I am a consultant). You could always get others to help you carry things to and from the house. There's Mary Kay, Avon, and a few others that have slipped my mind.
Depending on what your skills are, you might even be able to do some sort of typing from home. Like a resume service.

Get out and help someone who is in worse shape than you.
You have to take your mind off of your woes.
Otherwise you will drive yourself and your spouse nuts.
I had a chiropractor mess up my back years ago. I have had chronic pain on and off ever since.
Walking is one of only things that helps my back.
PS-I would try physical therapy before surgery. Have never known anyone who had really successful back surgery.

You might want to try Mangosteen Juice. You can get info online and you can buy it at a lot more reasonable price at Costco if you have Costco in your area. I hope this helps you. DW

Is there any type of surgery you can get? A plate in your spine may be out of line.
