As much as i reallllly want to say chevy becasue im a die hard chevy fan, im going to have to go with the toyota tacoma. Personaly i would pick the frontier. 265hp v-6, with the Nismo package in just an extended cab because the crew cab has NO bed. And Nissans really do have nice interiors. But gas milage isnt good on the frontier... I say toyota because Even in the crew cab (and it dose have the biggest cab i believe), it also has a big enough bed to fit a ATV and close up the bed. Plus it has pretty decent gas milage. Chevy Colorado has the best milage though. I just totaly hate the honda ridgeline. I mean it is soooooo ugly! and it isnt even a real truck...it has IRS. Dakota is cool cuz it has a V-8. Mitsubishi Raider is selling so bad that they quit making them for a while now until they can sell some more.

I personally own a 2004 Nissan Frontier with a supercharged V6, 4WD, Crew Cab (that's the four-door), and a long bed. I love it, it is perfect; the gas mileage is the only undesirable. I shopped around for a long time for a mid-sized truck and this was the most truck for my money. I bought this truck brand new, and for what I gave I couldn't have got a crew cab or 4WD in the others. I guess if money is no object than I would say the Tacoma, but you just pay so much more for the same thing, with just a little more cab room. The Ridgline is ugly, the Dakota has quality issues, GMC your paying alot for a little truck, the Raider is the red-headed step child of all these trucks, it's ugly!

I have a 2006 colorado and it is very nice. 4 cyl engine and good gas milage. Ford makes a nice light truck. DO NOT get a toyota. The engine will run forever, but the rest of the truck will fall apart around it. Look at 1980's toyota trucks on the road, the body's are rusting to the frame. The saftey rating is not very high on toyota trucks either.

I bought a 2005 Chevy Colorado, and it's great. I have the 4 cylinder, but they also make them in a 5. It's great on gas, has a nice ride.

Last year when I bought it, it seemed like all they other pick-ups really went up in price. I checked out a lot of trucks. The Colorado's price was good, and I'm glad I got it.

Good Luck!

#1. TOYOTA, HARD TO FIND A BETTER VEHICLE
#2. Nissan, Good value and last a long time but underpowered.
#3. G.M.C., Good value and cheap to fix in the future.
#4. Honda, Too expensive to fix and insure and new to trucks.
#5. Mitsubishi, Same as Honda but lower quality.
#6. Dodge. Not new to trucks but otherwise same as Mitsubishi.
#7. Any other brand
#8. Any of the above used.
#9. A van made by one of the above.
#10. Last resort Ford. Overall rolling pile of rubbish and yes I know it was not on your list.

I watched a show and they were crash testing. The Toyota failed miserably. The Dodge had the highest rating. The Ridgeline is nice looking and middle of the road safe. The rest were average, too. But I would avoid the Toyota dealership. The rate of speed being demonstrated wasn't very high and the dummies were terribly hurt.

Japanese good! American, NOT GOOD!! Easy rule of thumb. Which sucks, cause I'm American. But I'm also a mechanic, and I follow the wisdom of logic. and logic simply dictates that on this particular issue, European, and Japanese cars, are much better built and far safer than domestic automobiles. Anyone who says different has been driving the same car for thirty years, is prejudice, on lithium and is levitating 3ft above ground. Or ignore government crash test ratings. I hate to admit it, but Go Toyota
