Alright. So I can start my car up fine when the engine is cold. And the engine starts up fine when it is hot as well, but after like say 1-2 minutes it will shut off again. Don't really know what is wrong.

Thanks,
Martin

It could be one of several sensors or perhaps the fuel filter.

If you haven't done maintenance in a while ... plugs, air. filter, fuel filter ... I' start there. you need to do that anyway. Your problem sounds like the job of a code reader. You plug it into a socket under your dash and it tells you what's wrong. Code readers start at about $60, but Auto Zone will let you use one free, with a deposit.

Be carefull spraying starting fluid around a hot engine!!
Probably ignition. Try spraying air on the coil and ignition module to cool them off while leaving the rest of the motor hot. We test those modules with a hair-dryer to see if a cold motor but hot components also fail. You want to also check your ox sensor and EGR valve for proper readings.

Good luck!

Hard to tell. Sounds like an ignition problem. To confirm, have a can of starting fluid handy. When it shuts down, spray some fluid in the intake. If it still shuts down, then you do have an ignition problem. If it runs on ether, troubleshoot the fuel system. Good luck.

Way too many variables to give you a clear answer, but 99% of the time problems of this nature are electrical.... ignition module, crankshaft position sensor, camshaft position sensor are likely. If you car is older, maybe vapor lock of the fuel system. Try re-asking, but put in your vehicle info (year, make, model and engine size).

You might need a starter or probably another alternator...
