I am as pale as they come, and I am tired of it! I've been warned countless times about skin cancer, but can coating my entire body with chemicals be any better for me?

Also, does the tan last? The woman at the store wanted $22 for a Mystic Tan session and told me it would only last a week. That's trop cher, no?

One other question - if I use a tanning bed, must I buy the special tanning lotion? These bottles ranged from $30 to $50.

Any help (or alternatives to a spray tan) are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I got one of those tans, woke up the next day and screamed in Horror!!! I was orange and streaky, it is hard to see where the "spray" had gone, I wiped myself down as instructed but my heels were super orange, it is just a big hassle in my opinion.

Tan beds are just as bad if not worse than the sun alone.

I recommend Endless Summer by coppertone~ it's easy to apply (cause you can see where you are putting it) it smells nice and you can see the results within a 1/2 hr, and best of all it's about 8 bucks for a bottle.

Good luck

I've done the Mystic Tan myself a couple of times and I didn't really care for it. It's too expensive and it doesn't last very long. Plus, when it fades, it looks funny because it doesn't fade evenly. Now that I have the money, I chose to go to the salon and use the beds. I don't think you need to buy the high dollar lotions to get a good tan. Australian Gold makes some good lotions that start at $17 and they work really well. After I got my base tan, I started using the lotions from Wal-Mart..Ocean Potion it what I'm using now and it works great!

Mystic tans are good, but not great and they could go bad, like once I had a line down my leg where it had drizzled and I hadn't wiped it. They last a decent amount of time. About 20 is good for one. But, you should try one of those new lotions that you use everyday that gradually enhance your skin tone. I've been using one for like a week and a half and instantly I saw results on my really white areas (like my boobs because I was already tan from wearing a bikini). My boyfriend commented that my legs looked tanner since the last time he saw me and I really haven't been outside. I think this is much more natural looking. I've been using Vaseline. Don't do booths, you'll burn and it's not safe.

mystic tanning is good...but make sure to exfoliate and mouisturize your whole body b4 you do it..you cant shower for 4 hours after you get a mystic.

if you use a tanning bed you dont have to buy a tanning product it just enhances the tan..(in my opinion they are worth it cuz you get darker faster)

I also just bought doves new touch of sun product..its a mouisturizer that has subtle self tanner in it and it makes you get darker just by mouisturizing...ive used it for 3 days now and i can definitlly see the results...they also make a touch of sun mouisturizer for the face...which is also very good..

i'd ought to disagree. i have finished mystic tanning a number of cases and that i got here upon that it become orange looking and it become streaky, even besides the undeniable fact that they say it really is not any longer. also, it receives up your nostril & your mouth - even if in case you try no longer to respire it in, and it tastes terrible. It broke my epidermis out something undesirable because (in my experience) it clogged my pores & made my face extremely oily. also, it rubs off on your clothing or maybe besides the undeniable fact that they say it lasts as a lot as 7-10 days, mine become in uncomplicated phrases "respectable" searching for type of two.
