I think that alot of parents think it will spark an intrest in sex that will make there children go out and try to figure out what they are talking about. the problem here is alot of the time parents either are waiting for the "right time" and over look it or are just tring to save there childrens "innocents", however if the parents do not help there children understand then some one else will and usally that ends badly.

Because adults are told that children are harmed by exposure to anything sexual. I think that's a crock specifically designed to prevent underage complications.

Some parents are too backward to talk about sex to their kids. Others, like me, just disagree with what society at large teaches about sex. What I teach my kids about sex disagrees with what is taught in public schools.

In our culture, sex is a taboo. It's not something we talk about in public, so nobody knows the right words to use. Careful word use is needed to say that sex can be good without encouraging promiscuous behavior.

Unless you've actually DONE this it's hard to understand.

You LOVE your child and you want them to UNDERSTAND what they need to know. You are also concerned about PROTECTING them. So you talk to your kids more delicately than you do your friends...

It's better to tell them when they're younger so they go, "YECH-I'm NEVER gonna do THAT, dad!"

Because they are embarrassed and some think if they talk to their kids about it, the kids will run out and try it. Ignorant!

sex is a very uncomfotable topic for most people to approach. I think it is just something in our society that says sex is wrong and should not be spoken of. even in this day and age.
