I personally think he is bisexual, since it takes that to play both gay and straight roles so convincingly, but I have a friend whose aunt worked at Universal, who told her that Sean was actually straight. Now, I don't know if she worked off-set or in the front office pr whatever, so her contact with Sean may be limited. I've heard the other responses-he's married, or that David Phoenix is his bf, but then there's the story of Reyna Larson, who he dated for 2 yrs, so he could be either way.

I have seen him on a couple of other shows where his character is straight. He was just as convincing.
I think he is straight. No-one really gay would really be as camp as he is in Will & Grace.

I think he played a gay man long enough that he actually turned gay, because he has the same gay accent in his other movies like "Cat in the Hat."
