The idea is to keep all the noise out and hide the vents

That'll be tricky. I'm not an HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) person, but I've seen some stuff done before in music studios. What they've done to keep things quiet is go with oversize ducts....normal is like 6 to 8 inch...they went with 12 inch. Then to make sure it stayed quiet they didn't put a vent grille on it. Now it was very quiet, but it was ugly. As far as hiding the vents.....well that may be a problem. Normally in houses they put the vents in the ceiling, or on the side of a wall. In trailers, they're put in the floors. The bad thing about vents in the floors is dirt and stuff collecting in there, and when the a/c comes on, it rattles. I don't really think you can hide the vents without it stressing out your a/c system. An alternative is to buy decorative vents....seen them at hardware stores such as Home Depot. They can come in brass, or anything that may match the decor in your home theater room. If they don't have them in stock, they may be able to special order them for you. If they can't get them, then maybe they can point you in the right direction. Hope I've helped you with this......best of luck with your room.........
