After about 30-45 minutes my AOL will log off due to inactivity. Is there a way to make it to where it stays online longer if not all the time?

AOL uses this device as a safety measure just in case you forget that you are still online. If there is no account activity after 45 minutes then AOL will kick you off as you found out. To my knowledge, there is no fix for this. It has been their security device for more than 5 years now and its part of their own AOL program. I used AOL ten years ago, and I remember they had this feature, but I guess they extended the time limit on it because when I used to have AOL, they kicked me off after 15 minutes.

I am pretty sure though, that there is a macro program out there that will make AOL think you are still active. You definitely need a macro job for this that makes your computer do active things while you are away from keyboard.

You can try using your own web browser like internet explorer, (I just thought about inserting that in). AOL has been know to slow down PC's and cause other problems because of it's adware. This is why I suggest you run your own browser if you can. Unfortunately you can only do this if you have a connection that is not dial-up.

Just tap the return key every 45 mins.

You could set up a mail program to check your mail every 15 minutes.
