Hi all!!About 2 days ago I bought a Albatron 7600 GT graphics card, i installed it and tried to see how it would perform with some games..i tried Hitman:Blood money, Oblivion, NFS:Most wanted, Fear...although generally i was satisfied with it's performance i couldn't help but notice that there were small lock-ups when the "game action" was too much, also i checked the temp of the GPU and it was 70 degrees Celcius!! The idling temp was 65 degrees!! Is that normal?? I must admit that the air flow in my PC case isn't that good.. (only one fan for the case)..also since I'm in a warm country (Greece) and it's summer we got high temps, about 33*C, can this affect the GPU temp? what should I do? many thanks in advance!

Try running the system with the case off.
Eevn better, case off, and small personal fan blowing into it.
If either solves your problem, buy a larger CPU cooler (as this creates most of the inner-box heat), larger GPU fan (or rig one on if there is none), and if there are spaces for any, put in more case fans.
Sometimes you can make spaces for fans.
I have 7 fans total in one of my systems.

well gpu's are known to be mini nuclear reactors.

if you do feel scared.

Pop the side of the case off the computer.

Did you install the drivers from the CD?

You should always make sure not just your video card, but all of your drivers are upto date

here is a link to the most upto date drivers for Nvidia cards.

the spikin sounds more like a issue with the page file.

How much ram do you have? 1024MB Should be enough. but it will be nothing less then 2048MB pretty soon for high end gaming.

I have 1,536MB and i feel the squeeze from some games now a days.

if you want. send me a IM on the messenger.

Shoot over your Dxdiag print out and i'll take a look at it.

you can find it by going too.

Start/run type "dxdiag" then click save all informatiom.

but a couple fans never hurt anyone.

They are cheap. but very loud.

Blower fans that fit into spare PCI slots are always a good edition to that area of the pc. they can rifle in fresh air for the gpu or take out the hot stuff.

The best way to run a PC is with the side off laying over on its side. But that is just funny looking most of the time. and cats like it inside.

also!

the fans can only do so much if you have cables every where..

examples!

Very bad!

here is good

there are still cables out. but they have been grouped together. so that air can travel around the case.

2.00$ can solve this problem. just buy zip ties and zip tie the cables to the inside of the case.

Ambient temperature isn't as big of an effect as airflow. Running a higher end GPU like that is going to need some heaveier airflow than one fan. You're to want one intake and one exhaust aside from the the power supply fans. You should look at getting a new case. 120mm fans move tons of air so look for a case with those. Also try to get a case that is made of aluminum. Real aluminum. It's lightweight and dissaptes heat away from the case better than steel or plastic.

Also make sure the graphics card has a heatsink and fan on it to pull heat from the GPU. If they don't, you can order them online and install them yourself; fun for the whole family!

This infant domestic dog should be fed 4 cases an afternoon a minimum of. you're not any more feeding it sufficient nutrients to live to inform the tale. the reason the puppy's abdomen is demanding and bloated is because the adverse little component is finished of worms. he's not any longer fat...it really is all worms. He couldn't probably be fat because you're not any more feeding him almost sufficient. in case you want to save this domestic dog alive, take it to a vet for a well being verify and to be dewormed. A heavy trojan horse burden can kill a touch one domestic dog. Who gave you a 4-5 week previous domestic dog? it really is not any longer even previous sufficient to be precise weaned and should be with it really is mom and muddle acquaintances. it really is a criminal offense in maximum places to promote or provide away a domestic dog less than the age of 8 weeks. you need to go back it to it really is mom for yet another 4 weeks. For heavens sake do a touch study and techniques to look after a domestic dog. you need to have finished that in the previous you took this puppy on.

hey, 70 degree is not normal even if u hv overclocked it.....

u shud try installing another fan, preferably, one solely for the card...

BUT, overheating generally crashes the computer, i hv never heard of lock-ups due to onerheating.......

try re-installing the drivers too
