Ever since George Bush has been in office, the gas prices has only went up not down....could it be, because he has all those stocks in oil?Is he getting rich or richer while he's in office?Why can't he get the prices lowered, he's the PRESIDENT, right?

George Bush will do NOTHING about high gas prices because his family and the vice president's family are lining their pockets nicely while we are struggling to pay our bills and keep gas in our cars.

As president, he is not allowed to own stock. It is called a conflict of interests. So no, he isn't getting richer and richer. And the gas price is set by the owners of the gas... the gas companies. It is NOT the role of our government to set prices or tell businesses how to run their companies. If you don't like the price of gas, then you need to do something to drive down demand. This is very basic supply-demand economics.

When gas prices jumped in the 70's to over $1.00 per gallon what did the President do?
If someone offered you more money to do the same job would you take it? Then they offered you a raise, would you take it? The oil companies raise their price and you keep paying it, why wouldn't they raise the price?
A better question is what are you going to do? Will you reduce your consumption? Will you put forth efforts to develop alternative fuel sources?

It is not for the Government to decide. It is up to the market. Remember, we live in a market economy. All market-based economic theory regards price controls (especially from Government) of any kind with suspicion, and many economists reject them utterly, making no exception for short-term controls in a state of emergency.

He's from TEXAS!!!! Big oil companies give BIG money to Washington...he will NEVER lower the prices because it serves his and his friends' interests to make as much profit as possible. SICK but true....
