what's it like joining the police when ur older (uk)?

what kind of experience in the outside world r they looking 4? or is having life experience enough. thinking particularly of the sussex police

very hard as you like me have life experience and you try to apply this to the job but infact you can be brain dead as long as you carry out what thay want ie get as many arrests as poss as this then looks good for the figures up to you but i was glad to leave

My daughter is a UK Police officer in her 20's but there were women in their 30's and forty's joining at the same time. They are looking for people who can think on their feet, who keep calm under pressure ,who are compassionate and thoughful but can handle themselves in a tough situation. Each candidate is taken on his or her own merit but I personally think that life experience helps a great deal.It is not necessary to have any formal qualifications (GCSE and A levels ) The recruitement procedure is in the form of application form, written tests... maths, English etc. (PIR tests),interview, medical, physical fitness test, Role play tests. You have to pass each stage before going on to the next.At the end of the day if a person fulfills all the criteria then he or she will gain entry into the Police no matter what their age....
