It all comes down to how big your planet is and how far you want to move it. You need a way to exert a force on the planet for a long enough time to get it to produce enough of a velocity change to get into the other orbit.

Theoretically it is simple. Practically it is impossible. There just aren't sources of propulsion powerful enough to move something as massive as an average planet a substantial distance.

This is an interesting question. Thanks for asking!

There is a method currently being developed by scientists to move asteroids that are on a collision course with earth. It's called a "gravity tractor" and basically it consists of a large amount of mass which "floats" along through space with the asteroid. The gravity which the tractor exerts on the asteroid isn't much, but over the course of a few years the trajectory of the asteroid is altered enough to render it harmless to earth. I imagine that, if humans needed to move a celestial body, they would have to design and build a colossal gravity tractor, one actually large enough to affect the planet earth. This is just one idea.

Study out of body travel for 30 years.Work your way to the highest temple on the Udand. They'll direct you to a Kolog temple. From Kolog you'll travel through a midgy mirror to one of the oldest rooms in the Temple of the Doom. This would be a pre flight star ship captain's room. They'll show you the gigantic planet mover ball sheds. It's about four cubic miles of gold per hour.

How large is the planet?
How far do you want to move it?
Closer or further from the suppose star at the center of the solar system?
Do you want the planetary rotation to remain the same, or don't you care?
Are we assuming Almighty powers, or working withing the confines of what man currently knows?
