I'm not a scientist or teacher but my theory is there was pressure buildup when the glasses cooled after being washed in hot water. I tried to pour hot water in the glasses to heat them up again but they remained stuck together. I know there is a science application to this problem but I'm not sure if heat expanded the glass or if it created the vacuum which caused the glasses to get stuck.

Immerse the plastic glasses in a larger container of very hot water, add ice and water to the inside cup, wait 30 seconds to a minute and you should be able to separate them easily

I assume the cups are stacked together. If so put the glasses upside down in warm water. The capillary action of the water will wick it up through the small gap between the glasses. Eventually it ought to build up enough pressure to allow them to be pulled apart. Boiling them would probably also work, but then you wouldn't be able to use capillary action.

Run hot water on the outside glass . It will expand then you can pull them apart.

put it all in a compost pile. Come back in two months and the bugs will have turned the real garbage into mulch. Then you can sift out the glass

plastic you gotta use cold water or brute force. with glass the hot water trick works because of expansion and contraction.

The air pressure outside the glasses is higher the pressure inside them. If you just want to get them unstuck, drill a small hole in one of them.
