two cant equal three because two is two and three is three. And by sloving, it would mean that you are solving for the X. Which is zero. If you every, in any equation end with 2=3 or something like that, it is considered 'no solution'

The solution is not 2=3. When solving equations like this, you solve for x, which means that x has to be the last thing standing.
2x+5 = 3x+5
2x = 3x (subtract 5 from each side)
0.667x = 0 (divide both sides by 3)
x = 0 (any number multiplied by 0 equals 0)
To check this, we can run it through the original equation:
(2*0)+5 = (3*0)+5
0+5 = 0+5
5 = 5
Therefore, x = 0

sol. is x=0, but 2=3 occurs when one do these steps:
2x+5=3x+5 implies that 2x=3x now divide both sides by x, we get 2=3. the wrong he neglected that x maybe equal zero
so the right sol. x=0

If you subtract 5 from both sides, your'e left with 2x=3x, for which the only solution is 0.

x=0 is a solution, becasue when thats the case 2(0)+5=3(0)+5, becasue 0+5=0+5, which is 5=5

the solution to this equation is x =0
when you are left with 2x = 3x you cannot get rid of the x's
you simply subtract 2x from both side and you'll get 0 = 3x - 2x
which is 0 = x

How can 2x + 5 = 3x + 5 ??? X has the same value, and 2x can't be the same as 3x. Go back and check the problem again.

Yes, high five to all the x = 0 folks. That is def. correct.
Tip for algebra.... you can almost allllllwayyyyyssss check_your_work!
Especially with this one
2(0) + 5 = 3(0) + 5
0 + 5 = 0 + 5
5 = 5
Good times. Gotta love algebra.

who told you 2=3 is the solution? They were wrong. The only correct answer is x=0.
