My dad has battled with type 2 Diabetes for several years. In the past three or four years, it has gotten extremely worse. Their have been times that he has lost consciousness while driving and been in a few accidents (thankfully - no one else was hurt expect my dad in these accidents). The state will not revoke his licenses as long as he can pass the eye test, even though he is partially blind in both eyes due to Cataract disease. He is only in his mid-50 and can be very stubborn when it comes to giving up his freedom to rome around when and where he wants to. Between the four of us children, we can't seem to convince him of the dangerous game his is playing with his life and others.

Search for "click and clack"; they pose a similar question and have some pretty good suggestions from other answerers.

I suggest you take them to the physician and ask the physician yourself whether or not they should be driving. Let the physician give them the bad news.
