Maybe you are putting it on to thick, or you are using the wrong color? I am caucasian and use black, i like this cause it really makes my lashes stand out. If you get clumps use a needle to separate them but PLEASE be careful, not to poke your eye! Ouch!!

Get a mascara with a smaller brush. A really good one is Revlon, Lash Exact in a pinkish-purpleish tube. The bristles are tiny for really light application. If you have dark eyelashes then use black. If you have light eyelashes then use dark brown. Don't put too much on though, mascara is meant only to darken eyelashes and make them look a little fuller and longer. Keep it natural-looking. If none of this works still, then stop using it all together.

mascara should not be too old as it gets thick. make sure your mascara is not more than 6 months old. when you apply mascara, let your lashes be coated with 2-3 strokes then let dry and apply a second time. trying to achieve maximum effect in a single coat will make your lashes clumpy. after each coat is dry, separate lashes with a lash comb before you put the next coat of mascara. 2 coats work best for me. if you use an eye-lash curler, use it before applying the mascara not after.
depending on your skin tone, experiment with brown mascara first as it is not as prominent then move to black or other colors once you are comfortable.

Before you put it on take a tissue or piece of t.p. and wipe off the brush. This will remove all the mascara that is clumped on the brush and it will give you lashes a more natural look, since you will be applying less! I do this whenever I wear mascara and it works every time! Good luck!

When you say your mascara looks bad i presume you mean that your eye lashes clog together, and looks like spiders legs, what you need is to apply your layers of mascara when the first coat is dry, also invest in a eyelash comb, what this does is seperates the lashes, and makes themn look more unified. Remember dont apply too many wet layers of mascara thats what causes the clogging.

If you put a lot than there is your problem. When applying mascara start all the way from under the eye lid all the way to the tip of your eye lash. When doing so jiggle it a bit so your eye lashes wont stick together.

when I put on mascara, I apply it very little by little. Put on a small bit, then let it dry. Then a bit more, let it dry...etc until you get it to how you like it. It keeps it from getting really clumpy. You may be buying a strang brand, or one that you just don't like. Try a different brand, and if that still doesn't work then there are other options. For example, put lipgloss on your eyelashes. lol I know it sounds strange, but it works. It doesn't add any goup, it just makes them look longer.

Use clear mascara until you get the hang of it. Cover Girl sells a really good one. Then graduate to a waterproof one.

Wear a lighter mascara (thinner formula) that applies cleanly. Don't try those double lash formulas (base coat/top coat) that will chunk/glob on. Use a lighter mascara with a good applicator brush. :)

Try changing the brand and/or color of the mascara you use. Get a lesson on how to apply it and don't put on too much (or too little)!

You don't need mascara, you are beautiful just the way you are. Women use make up to mask their own ugliness. You have a natural beauty that needs no enhancement.
