I think Detroit has a chance at finishing number 2, if Martz's offensive prowess comes into play.
Chicago is the favorite and with the dominating D getting even better, there's no way any of the NFC North teams will score more than 17 points against them.
Green Bay may actually surprise some people with the young D but the OL is too much of a concern to even give them a fighting chance. If Greg Jennings can emerge as a quality #2 then maybe there's hope.
Minnesota is not a bad team but lacks a dominating D or an excellent O. Brad Johnson will be steady but Wiggins is getting up there in age and Williamson is still pretty raw. The LBers leave a lot to be desired as well.
Detroit has a pretty good blend of O/D. If one of the other WRs (Mike Williams, Rogers or Vines) then I truly belive Kitna will make them a WC contender. I predict them to fall short and go 8-8 or 7-9.

While they did upgrade at QB and have a new offensive strategy, the Lions will not be taking the NFC North.
They still have to contend against a vicious Chicago Bears defense (which has been worked on and improved) and a bulked up offensive scheme.
Minnesota is banking on new life in their running game and a better O-Line with Hutchinson in the mix now. They may have lost Daunte, but Johnson was dropping bombs on defenses all last year and he could repeat that situation.
Green Bay is clawing their way back into prominensce, but I feel their time has gone.
Final Standings in NFC North (prediction obviously):
Chicago
Minnesota
Detroit
Green Bay

On paper they have some of the most explosive offensive talent in the league. With Mike Martz calling the plays on that offense, and Jon Kitna at quarterback, they have a chance to be one of the most potent offenses in the league. But, a division title? Not yet. This division belongs to Chicago, especially if they get solid play at the quarterback position. Give the Lions another year, and they will probably be ready to challenge in the NFC North. They have been losing for so long, a winning attitude needs to be fostered in the Motor City.

The Bears are definitely the team to beat, but you never know what may happen with injuries. The Lions have a fantastic set of receivers if they can keep their heads on straight. I'm not sure how far they will get with a QB combo of Kitna and McCown. I think you should root for 2nd place and hope to catch a break or two.
