well when you go into your car and you notice a funny smell which is probably the french fries that you spilled on your floor the other day last week when you were switching the radio station and then you suddenly looked up and saw a truck coming at you so you braked and swerved to the left and then hit the sidewalk but youre okay so ultimately the smell is definitely coming from those french fries, get that cleaned up. so other than this, i would suggest washing your car on the outside to distract people from the peculiar smell inside. you can also look into turning your radio up (yes it is okay to do it now) so loud that when people ask you what the smell is, you wont be able to hear them. oh and also don't drink and drive! this could cause much harm to you and your car and other people or even me. because you could hit a telephone pole and if you hit the right one then all the lights in the world would go out and you would have to run away really far away so the police couldn't find you because if they did then they would put you in a pitch black jail cell with creepy people and thats not good because who knows what goes on during the night in prison. and one last thing, don't buy those french fries anymore because they really can cause a bad smell as you have demonstrated and it can save you money if you don't buy them and just chew gum or altoids or someting like that. you can also make a grilled cheese sandwhich by taking the bread and putting butter on the outsid pieces and placing a piece of cheese in the middle and putting it on a frying pan and cooking each side for roughly two minutes each. good luck with all of this i am praying for you sonny.

If you have a tachometer on the dash, see if it goes abruptly to zero when it happens. It would help a lot to know your make and model of the car because many problems are specific to a particular car. So always give the make, model, mileage and engine size.
You could be losing your ignition spark, and that would cause the tachometer to go to a zero reading abruptly rather than gradually as happens more with a fuel problem. Of course a rapid intermittent spark is another case.

Ignition module, fuel pump or relay, bad battery terminal, Computer or wireing, ignition switch, loose wire on engine senlsor, or a grounded wire. I need to know the year of the car, make and model. Also, when doesz this occur? Hot, cold both? Going around a corner, hitting a bump, stopping, starting out? Need more input.

Usually when a car turns off randomly, its an electrical problem. If you know how to use a voltmeter and are good with elecronics start looking for a lose wire or one with high resistance

Bad Gas. I was traveling and stopped in this small town and gassed up. I was on the road no more then 10-15 min and my car just stalled out. I got it going again and it stalled again. This happened several times and I finally stopped at another gas station and was told if there was water in the gas it could cause this to happen. I put some kind of gas treatment in my tank put and better gas and it was fine.

Bad battery, bad alternator, bad coil, bad ignition module, could be lots of things. Need more information. Need to find out if it's an ignition problem or fuel problem by using ether when it refuses to run. Really need more details.

Either it can be some problem with the ignition system or if it happens when deceleration then your fuel intake system need some cleaning.

Sometimes, change in fuel quality also cause this problem.

Lack of spark or lack of fuel.

Consider clogged fuel filter, idle speed too low.
