Not unexpected I knew it all a long although Australia seemed to have more ball possessions. Italy won at the last minute and they sent Australia home.

well is not unexpected but people will never thougth it was going to end this way..i think italy would have won if they went to Over Time..but the ref just mess up the game

Italy should not of got that free kick..the referee I saw is one of the better ones and he surprised me when that unexpected kick was given..I think he must of been tired and did not want to run around in the extra time...Italy will not win the Cup...no fear!!

I would have gladly accepted if they won the match fairly, not with a last second penalty, it is unfair and unaccepted. I just wasted my time watching this game, plus I feel so sorry for the Australian team who played from their heart.

In all realism Italia would probably have scored a goal in overtime. THAT is not the point. They were GIVEN the win by FIFA. Same with German win over Sweden. German would have won. But, FIFA gave it to them. THAT IS THE POINT. Why bother with the preliminaries, lets just invite Italia and Brasil and go staight to the finals..
