No, because it has to equal something.
But you can simplify it to be:
3x-4(x-1)
=3x-4x+4
=-x+4

3x-4(x-1) might equal zero(???)
3x-4(x-1)=0
3x-4x+4=0
-x-4
-x=-4
miultply both sides by -1, so x=+4
if there was not =0 at the end of your expression/equation then the answer would be
-x-4

No, because it's not an equation. It's an expression, and it can be simplified.
3x - 4(x-1) =
3x - 4x +1 =
-x + 1
It's a kind of grammar thing: equations get solved (or graphed), expressions get simplified.

of course it can, watch:
3x-4(x-1)
=3x-4x+4
then, combine like terms
= -x+4
next, move -x to the other side by adding it.
x=4
ur solution is x=4.

If you want, I'll try to do this algebraicly for you:
I think this can be solved.
3x-4(x-1)
(3x)(x) = 3x²
(3x)(-1) = -3x
(-4)(x) = -4x
(-4)(-1) = 4
The answer, according to my calculations is: ---> 3x² - 7x + 4
Hope this helped you out. It was an easy problem. :)
Cheers,
Gabriel

You can simplify it only.
3x-4x+1 or
-1x+1
that is 1-x
If there is =0 on the right it will be an equation.
1-x=0
x=1
