Crouch is not the answer, his positional play is dire. How the hell is he is classed as an International quality player is beyond me.
I'd play the Portugese with the same line up as we used against Ecuador. Rooney looks like he's about to do something pretty special to me, and certainly doesn't look to be suffering from his injury. Give him chance and he will shine.
One thing is for sure, it's about time the whole team started playing as such and showed more commitment than they have done of late (how much of that is Sven's lack of enthusiasm though?)

Yes, he kind of has to since ROoney couldn''t really get into the game till the 2nd half. Playing Crouch will take pressure of Rooney and allow ROoney to play off somebody. Plus there were a few players on the field who could have easily been sitting the bench against equador, thats how much they contributed.

I hope, or at least Walcott, not likely, or Gerrard in a strict forward role. We definitely need two forwards. A friend a I were hoping that on Sat. Sven would have played a 4-3-3 like Holland's with Van Persie and Robben on wings with Rooney in the middle and Beckam and Lennon, or a Gerrard on the wings.

Play Lennon from the start on the right as Beckham's only good for deadball situations (surely there's someone else you can take a half decent free kick/corner?) he'll create havoc with the Portugese defence and create goal scoring chances. Come on you Spurs!

Don't worry moonbeam,
As soon as Rooney gets the first one in, the rest will start flowing.
Lampard is still off target, but he's getting closer, i predict a good, hard hit goal from him on Saturday.
I'm more worried about the defense. After Portugal, we have to play Brasil...

i dunno if ericson would play Peter Crouch , cause he has got a nice line-up of star players wich cannot be rested in a quarter final match up .. he is keen on beckham .. ashley cole .. joe cole .. lampard .. and other players r well - experienced and crouch is a nice amateur on the block ,, he wood most probably make him a substitute.. and bring him in the later half of match
