Wizards:

There are many diffrent types of wizards. Each with a unique type of power/practice.

Many wizards practice in towers and forests.

Others may just practice in their own house, a cellar or attic maybe.

Their magic usually comes out of a book, so they'd usually have a book stand with a spell book on it.

Wizards protect their spell books with their lives (Those who use spell books) so they dont just practice their magic in the open where anyone can see.

There are good and bad wizards. They dont neccasarily practice their magic in one place.

It also depends on what centaury, are you talking about the middle ages? Twenty first centaury? Ect.

One thing is for sure, Wizards either practice their magic alone or in a cult.

Hmmm....outside of Hogwarts Acadamy for Wizardry & Witchcraft? I'm thinking you'd want someplace secluded, private, where you can meditate in peace.
An occult hotspot (Stone Henge, Stone Mountain, Bermuda Triangle, Atlantis, any good convergence of ley lines) would be ideal, but most of those are pretty public by now.
The forest would be ideal, except you don't want a spell going wrong or a candle tipping over and setting the place on fire. Come to think of it that applies to an attic or basement also.
I think Fire Extinguishers should be issued with the black cats and pointy hats as a good idea.

Okay, I've got it: forest garden where you can plant all the herbs you need for potions & casting, and a source of running water- stream or creek (which also produces toads & eye of newt). set up an "outer perimeter" of rough stones and at the 4 corners (north, east, west, south, all in the same house) set up stone gargoyles as guardians, and hide the fire extinguishers behind them. Then set up an "inner perimeter" of smooth river stones and perform your meditations within that. Also, a hammock between 2 trees nearby would be great, but you'd also want a waterproof lockbox &/or shelter nearby for sudden storms, and so you don't have to conspicuously lug all your occult paraphenalia along with you every time- just your black cat and some food.

depends on what kind of wizard. a lab if they're an alchemist. a forest if they're Merlin. but usually it is some sort of space, room, where that is especially for their magic.

Wherever the hell they want to. The practice does not always require a specific location.
