Communication is the transportation and interpretation of information between individuals. Some ways to communicate are: scent, gesture, written language, and spoken language.

There is not only speech, but body language say's a lot and probably speaks the loudest.
Another silent language that uses body language is sign language.
We all communicate we all take in what we hear, and see and feel. We use all of our senses to gather information and then we send information using our speech pattern, body language so forth and so on.
That's why so many times people misinterpret what we say.
Our perceptions are not reality. Many times we interpret wrong information. That's why actions speak louder than words. Words and meanings are significant especially the way we use them. People want congruency, that way it all makes sense.
So make sure what you communicate matches up with what you do. There is always a receiver at the end of you message.
