Yes. There may be no cracks, but water can seep thru the wall or floor.

Susan,
I had this problem as well. Apparently, the concrete blocks were getting so saturated with water that the water they could no longer hold ended up on the floor. Are your concrete blocks damp looking when it rains? We would only have the leakage into the basement with a heavy rain. Other than that, the blocks just looked wet. I ended up shelling out about $2,000 to get my basement waterproofed with B-Dry. It was worth every penny. I haven't had a problem since and it comes with a lifetime warranty. I considered painting the wall with Dry-Lock. While it is a cheaper solution, it is not the most effective, nor is it permanent. There is also a lot of surface prep that must be done for the product to work properly.

An excellent product is called UGL Drylock in either oil-base
or latex. I prefer the latex. Use 2 coats. Also, make sure your
roof gutters and downspouts are in working order and your
grading near the house slopes away from the foundation.
You may have a high water table or poorly draining soil
like heavy clay, but try the Drylock. Good stuff. Available at
places like Home Depot, Lowes, Menards etc.

We did the same thing as "belate" above. Drylock on the walls, and making sure the downspouts and drainage from the roof went well away from the house.
We also got some advice from the waterproofing guy, and he said that nothing really waterproofs the basement, the only thing you can do is divert the water that does come in.

There are hairline cracks that are allowing water to seep in. It needs to be waterproofed. Companies specialize in the service essentially coat the basement from the outside with a waterproofing agent.

It could be a fracture in the foundation under the house. I would call a few waterproofing companies and see what they recomend. A few so you get more than one bid and opinion on where the leak is coming from.
