Some peoples reasoning for why we shouldn't have women in power or in the military is because of their period. Ok ladies answer me this, would you be metally, physically and emotionally stable to perform demanding duties as a leader or as a soldier during your period? Would you need special treatment or time to devote to your hygene during your period, if you are in combat? During combat would you need to move to a secluded area to do what you have to do, even though there is a high threat of danger?

Also if you were going into combat and the shot to make your periods stop was offered to you, would you take it? If not, why?

Lets Throw Hillary Rodman Clinton in there if she hasnt went thru menopause yet, since she thinks she has BALLS, and then lets be the judge of that. Again, I agree, if a woman wants to do a mans job, they should NOT get SPECIAL TREATMENT because of their period, period...

Dealing with menstruation is not that much more time-consuming/private then dealing with all our other bodily functions. Male soldiers have to figure out how to go to the bathroom and clean themselves and whatever else while in combat...women soldiers would have to just do the same.
And I don't think the emotional state of a woman during menstruation would be any more problematic than the emotions soldiers feel all the time, missing their family, being frightened for their lives, coping with the loss of fellow soldiers.
If a woman is a strong enough individual to become a soldier and make it through boot camp and training in the first place, than that woman will overcome any obstacles to be the best soldier she can.

unless you have severe issues, it shouldn't be a big deal. I mean, every soldier would need privacy at some point. Guys manage in the military...and I don't suppose you all stop having your special little "dreams" during times of combat, do you? I realize this is not during times of action...but still along the same lines. The only problem I could foresee is that women would be too emotional...but sometimes guys are too eager to be a "man"... I think men are naturally better at being in the position of President....not that women have ever had a chance, but I think in this arena, women are better in the supporting role.

I disagree. Just because ladies have a period once a month is no reason why we shouldnt have a woman in power. Great britan has a woman as a queen and they are not doing too bad. Many women in the world have ruled countries and done a good job. If i was in combat during my period i would fight even harder with more force, the only thing that happens to me during my period is that i get cranky in the morning when i wake up. I would not care if my stuff was bleeding through my pants during battle, its a battle for heavens sakes!

do u know the amount of pain some women have to go through when having there period...that dont prevent a woman to perform demanding duties, and no women dont need special treatment to devote to there hygiene..in a combat i personally wouldnt move to any secluded area to do what i have to do..i would certainly do it right there..when i have to go i just have to go

No, I would change it were I was, if they guys dont like it turn the other way, if I changed it at all.....and baby let me tell you put a gun in my hand and get the hell outa my way!
If there is a high threat of danger perhaps you should put about 50 women on their periods out there and let them go to town!

I think the Military would more than likely use PMT 2 their Advantage, wouldn't they?
Rather than worry about a woman having the opportunity 2 change a tampon on active duty!
Oooooooooooo I see a problem arising from this.
The Enemy could Smell them approaching!
YUK!

We'd "do what we need to do" at the same time and in the same place as we change our clothes. It's really NOT that big of a deal! And a little b*tchiness would probably help rather than hinder.

it's like this.being in the combat zone makes a lot of changes for us women- hormonal changes to be exact. so you see, as our body adjusts to the situation, the body tries to adopt to the situation too. as we go on with the work as a member of the military then we would be able to adjust by then. it wouldn't interfere with whatever duties we would be doing.

i don't know about the need for special treatment, but i do know that pms does affect our emotions whether we want them to or not. being women, we rely on our emotions to make decisions much more than men. so tell me, would you be comfortable having someone like that over you in authority in a stressful situation?
