As an adolescent,i was pretty troubled and Bon Jovi songs always worked for me(and they still do).Now that i'm successfully out of that phase and age and think about those years in retrospect,i think "it's my life" and "welcome to wherever you are" would have definitely inspired me at the time. Hey, they do now!!

If you mean 'To affect, guide, or arouse by divine influence.'
I think Kelly Clarkson's song Because of You could be a pretty good choice of song!

I will not make the same mistakes that you did
I will not let myself
Cause my heart so much misery
I will not break the way you did,
you fell so hard
I've learned the hard way
To never let it get that far etc etc...

It sounds to me as if she knows what to do in order to inspire youngsters....

I've always liked 'The Dance' and 'Standing Outside the Fire', both by Garth Brooks.

Old ones that they will think aren't cool and so won't listen to anyway (it's a shame.) I like old songs and silly ones.

I know it's an obvious one, but 'Imagine' pretty much sums everything up, or 'One Vision' by Queen.
