The desire to create a perfect civilization or utopia has inspired people through history to espouse the most beautiful and profound ideals of humanity. Yet, the result of this desire has almost always led to genocide, oppression, worsening poverty, and war. A perfect civilization where all things are equal and fair is highly improbable because human beings are imperfect.

One of the best examples of this is the former Soviet Union. The founders of the Soviet Union sought to liberate the people from the oppressive rule of the Tsars, who had grown ever wealthier and detached from the reality of the common people even as conditions for the masses went from wretched to unendurable. Basing their political theory and action upon the works of such writers as Karl Marx, the communists, led by Lenin, sought to overthrow the Tsar and to establish a more equitable and just society where the poor gained education and work, and where the workers were respected and treated fairly.

However, the actual result of Soviet communism in the 20th century is a record tarnished by the deaths of at least 30 million of the workers in purges orchestrated by Stalin during his reign of terror. Inequality, injustice, suppression of civil and human rights, torture, and war also resulted.

Thus the ideal of a perfect government or civilization must always remain suspect for the idealists that might wish to create such a society are too easily replaced by opportunists wishing to secure their own wealth and power at the expense of the governed.

That would be wonderful but it will never happen. There is too much greed, deceit, hate etc in this world. Not many people care anymore about other people. There is not much Love in this world. But we can always HOPE for a better life for all the good people who want it. Take Care and God Bless

we can always dream, but the truth is, some people just feel they have to have someone to exclude, whether it be because of race, riches or anything else for that matter. and some people just feel the need to rebel. Beautiful dream though.
