I'm a girl (23) and although I'm in pretty good shape, I am still body conscience, so I've always preferred lights off, however, recently my fiance insisted they stay on and the experience was so much sexier (as was his reaction to acutally being able to WATCH) that I have changed my mind on the issue.. I'm am now a lights on kinda girl... :)

Now this really depends on what you mean.
If you are referring to sleeping, then it's lights off because it's easier to sleep in the dark.
If you are referring to normal everyday life, then it's lights on because i like to see what I'm doing.
However, i like the lights to be off during a movie.
If you are referring to bedroom activities then it depends. If i think the person I'm with is attractive, then lights on. However, if I'm drunk and don't care, lights out! lol
