Well, Actually, I would say in the offical universon, the current superman, hasn't really died. If you paid attention to the explaination for the doomsday deal, he wasn't really dead there either. He just needed sunlight. Of course if you ad alternat version, say superman from earth 2 in the crisis story line they just did, he died at the end.

Just once when he was killed by Doomsday towards the end of 1993 in Superman #75. But he really wasn't dead now was he?

In the original storylines, none. Doomsday beat him ALMOST to death. But I think it was the Martian ManHunter who took him to the Fortrace of Solitude and took care of him. That being in the regular DCU.
