i dont know about y'all, but when us pennsylvanians see a live possum, its something exciting. 99% of the ones you see are dead on the side of the road. they are all suicidal. if your driving and one is in the middle of the road, he'll just sit there and watch you run him over.

Yes, it happened to me -
-all except the wiggling nose part...
The one I saw wiggled its butt at me, then stood, began strumming a banjo and danced the two-step back into the bushes.

Been driving for about forty years, happens all of the time, but we may have smarter possums here. Keep your eye out for armadillos though, they jump up if you scare them so even if you are in a truck that would clear them in the center, they jump and end it all. I mantion them because down here they are called Possum on the half shell.

That really is amazing considering the seemingly suicidal nature of opossoms! You should probably call your local wildlife dept because this may just incite a population explosion among these creatures. Maybe this one is going to possom college and is looking forward to a better quality of living than his predecessors. At any rate, no I have never experienced anything like it. The ones around here are just as suicidal as always.(ick)

well i live in florida, and thats common down here, unfortunatly there are a lot of dead ones on the road because they have poor eyesite. same goes for coons. actually we just rescued a coon that had gotten hit. thought he was dead, saw him 3 days later, barely standing on side of road, went back to get him and took him to rehab, he is doing well.
