Not eating will cause you to lose weight.

However, here's a couple other things it will do:

- make you unable to concentrate
- damage your liver
- make you lose muscle mass

Depending on your body type, you may or may not be affected by the above.

Ideally, what you should be doing is following the food guide to a T. That means 5-10 veggies, 3 portions of meat (ie, no more then 6-8oz total), 5 - 9 starches and no more then 4 servings of dairy.

The optimal diet for humans by calorie intake is 55% carbs (sugar or starch), 35% protien and 10% fat. Of course, these numbers have a bit of play.

Remember however, that dairy has fat, and so does your meat. So fat is very difficult to control.

Also, fat has a higher calorie count then protien or carbohydrates. If each protien or carb is 4 calories, then fat is equal to 7.

Proper diet is the best thing to help you lose weight. Excercise helps if you stray from this guide.

Your goal should not be short-term weight loss. Find some subtle changes to diet and exercise that you can maintain for 20+ years. Anything else will be meaningless.

A diet is like cleaning up your bedroom. It's a temporary fix. What works in the long run for your bedroom is putting everything where it belongs instead of on the floor. If you do that every day, your room will always be picked up. The same with what you eat. If you always eat lots of vegetables and other good food and always stay active, you will always be in better shape than if you didn't.

So the question is... do you want to be a little thinner for a few days? or do you want to be in better health for the rest of your life?

How to lose weight quick is a question that just about everyone asks at one time or another in their lives. Whether it's for a summer on the beach or for your 10 year High School reunion, sometimes we just need to lose weight fast. Check out the rest of this article to find out how to lose weight quick.

Tip 1

Get some sleep. Although sometimes sleeping does feel like the ultimate in relaxation in lethargy, your body needs a certain amount of sleep every 24 hour cycle to continue working efficiently. Staying up longer may seem like a good way how to lose weight quick, but actually the opposite is true - you burn calories while you sleep too, and it's much higher than you think - an average sized person can expect to burn 50+ calories per hour while sleeping!

Tip 2

Understand that your body has limits - it's easy to say "How to lose weight quick? I know! I'm going running for 2 hours every morning starting tomorrow!" While the intention is good, the fact of the matter is that unless your body is accustomed to a certain amount of exercise, if you go at it to hard right at the start, you're just going to hurt yourself - and guess what? If you sprain your ankle or pop a ligament, you practically guarantee you won't be losing that 10lbs quickly, because you won't be exercising at all for the next few weeks!

Tip 3

Understand the balance. When people ask how to lose weight quick, what they are really saying is that they want to lose FAT. You see, muscle weighs far more than fat, and is the first thing the body starts to break down when you starve yourself for some fad diet, so if you try to lose weight without exercise, your body is just eating it's own muscles. Gross huh? Not only that, but it makes it far harder for you to lose weight in future, as there is less muscle mass left to burn calories with.

Tip 4

Out-think your body when it comes to your diet. If you can break your bad eating habits and get into the habit of some gentle exercise, you'll find out how to lose weight quick-you can seriously drop a huge amount of body fat and weight in a real short space of time. Try drinking water instead of sodas for example, and replace some meals with just a salad. Next time you are hungry between meals, snack on fruit, not chocolate. Small changes like this can make huge differences for you next time you step on the scales, but only if you can train your brain to think before you eat.

There are three main ways to lose weight quickly.

1) Use only water as liquid and eliminate all other liquid drinks from your diet. You must drink as much water as possible every day. You must drink about half of your weight. If you have weight of 200 pounds then you must drink about 100 oz of water.

2) The interval between the eating is very important. If you eat once, then you must eat next after 4 hours. You must take breakfast regularly. In the night eat your food three hours before going to bed.

3) Walking is very good. You must walk as much as you can. Walk everywhere you can. Use of elevators and escalators must be reduced and instead of these you must climb stairs more often.

These are some of the fastest ways to lose weight. By just following the simple steps, you can lose your weight very quickly. You must consult your doctor if want to change your diet or exercise routine.

You can't stop eating. It will mess up your systems. Your digestive system, your mentrual cycle, your heart, etc etc. Your body needs food to replenish and function even if you are inactive or sleeping.
Continue eating but in small portions. Replace the unhealthy chips and cookies with fruits, yogurt, nuts or other healthy snacks; Reduce the fats in meats; Replace your soft drinks and sugar drinks with milk, juices from non concentrated, tea, fruit blends and water; Too much of anything is not good. AND most importantly you must move repeatedly. Even if it's 30 minutes of walking per day. Swimming is good if you don't like land activities; If you can't swim, water aerobics or consistent repeated motions in water tones your body. The healthy eating will help give you the energy you need to move and exercise.

Fatter... Not eating forces your body to break down Protein not Fat for energy. So you're left with less muscle mass... And the more muscles you have, the more calories you're burning by doing nothing.

Muscles increase your BMR or your basic metabolic rate, and Fat is the LAST resort for your body to use energy. So you do the math... In the long run it will make you fatter...

No. If you starve yourself your body will go into "starvation mode" and from then on no matter what you put in your mouth, your body will grab it and hang on in case you start "starving" again. you'll end up gaining weight. try just eating a little bit. Once i tried cutting out all sugar and starch. I was losing so much weight (about 5lbs a week) so i had to quit after losing about 10 lbs, bc then i looked like a stick. try it. maybe it'll work for you.
