with thoughtless or ridiculous answers like "I don't know but thanks for the 2 points" are the ones with the lowest number of "Best Answers"? What do they get out of this place? To see how many worthless points they can tally up? Do they somehow get validation out of a lot of points which only represent their weird fixation on showing off ignorance and the fact they have nothing better to do? It's one thing if it's a funny answer. I'll occasionally throw in an answer which will at least get a laugh, if not really satisfy the question. But just saying "I don't know"? What's up with that? Wouldn't a reasonable person take greater satisfaction from 100 points representing thoughtful answers than 10,000 points representing senseless wasting of time?

I don't know...Thanks for the two points!

LOL, Seriously if they are treating this as a game, and trying to get points, wouldn't you think the highest percentage of "Best Answers" would take the prize? As if there was one? I've never understood those people, but then again, I don't understand 90% of the people here...guess that's what keeps me coming back for more!

You would think that, wouldn't you? I've told Yahoo that they should have an abuse category for straight "I don't know" answers.
I have a respectable 19% best answer ratio and I'm about to hit level 5 and I take great satisfaction out of that.

I think the people who answer with a single letter (b) are even worse - they're really in a hurry to get on to the next question. You're right, though, people who answer "I don't know..." all the time, are just wasting everybody's time.

I guess we all have our own reasons for being here. Some treat it as a big game, others are bored at home or work(I'd love to be bored at work).
I think you just have to ignore those type of answers. It's like weeding a flower bed,get rid of the weeds and enjoy the flowers.Unfortunately there's alot of weeds out there!

I agree with you. For me it is not the quantity of answers, but the quality of how the questions are answered. What the heck are we going to do with all these points anyway? They are worthless.
