As i was watching the news there was this segment where this major league coach(or whoever i'm not sure) went totally ballistic out on the field! He was screaming, kicking dirt, throwing equipment, he was even able to dismantle one of the bases and threw it halfway across the baseball field. Does anyone know who this was and what team was playing? I'm sure this isn't the first person to lose it during a disputed call, But he almost gave himself a coronary. (poor guy) There were even baseball bats flying out of the dugout. How do those umps stay so cool during all that?

Minor league manager throws major league tantrum
AP - Mon Jun 26 23:49:37 2006
Once the umpire called Roger Clemens' kid safe, a minor league manager threw a major league tantrum that would have made Lou Piniella, Earl Weaver and Tommy Lasorda proud. It also cost Asheville Tourists manager Joe Mikulik a seven-day suspension and $1,000 fine. Mikulik, who used to write "Never Surrender" on his wristbands when he played in the minors, put on a throwing, kicking and screaming...

Actually it was a minor league manager. I'm not sure of the team, but hes a part of the the Houston Astros organization because Koby Clemens (Roger's Son) is on that team. Hopefully that helps!

Just watched the video, what a jerk!

As an umpire, I've never had a coach act that stupid, but they will quite often! One nutty coach told my partner and I on saturday we were the best he had seen in a long time--he had won the game! Same coach on sunday, same umpires, but coach lost, guess what, the only reason he lost was due to poor umpiring! He looks at me and said "you're horrible", looked at my partner and said, "you stink". I would usually just smile and say "thanks coach", but I couldn't resist. I just said while smiling, "yeah, and you lost!" I thought he was gonna blow a gasket after that!

You actually get used to that, have to remember to be proffessional in demeanor, and realize also at some levels the coach is gonna pay a fine!

If Pratik B is correct, the team is the Lexington Legends (Class A affiliate of the Houston Astros.).

I don't know, but hats off to them for not reacting. The home plate ump looked like he was writing the whole thing down, kept his cool.
