Is there like some month's you can keep make up. If you don't use it that much there's no point in throwing them away. Does have any effect on your skin if you keep it for a long time?

Generally over the counter makeup (blushes, eyeshadows, lipsticks) are good for about 6 months. All mascaras and eyeliner pencils should be thrown away after a month, if not u run the risk of the bacteria transferred from your eyes to the product, causing you a serious eye infection. The best kind of makeup are mineral products because not only do they wear better and improve the quality of your skin with continued use, they also last years as long as you keep them covered properly. Bare Escentuals is the best of the mineral line.

You are talking about shelf life of a makeup and that depends on the ingredients. The ones that are waterbased last longer, more than a year. The ones that are oil based spoil faster, less than 9 months.

If it's been opened 3-4 months. If it's unopened, up to a year. It can seriously affect your skin, especially eye makeup, if you keep it too long.

Since I use Nicole Miller, her make up is made to order, and have longer shelf life in my home. So I haven't had any problems yet. It also depends on the quality of the make-up and how many chemicals the manufacturers put in them. So... cheaper make-up you have to discard more because of cheap presentatives.

six months on liquids no more than 1 year on powders. It will smell different when the make up goes bad. oil based foundations tend to seperate.

I guess you can keep and use it for as long as you like, since it has no sell by or use by date. If it goes on ok and looks ok, does it matter how old it is?

when it starts separating or breaking apart or the color changes or it smells weird, toss it for sure...mascara should be changed every 3 months and the other stuff lasts longer....use your own judgement.
