Well, here's the thing... Ever since man even came up with north and south we've all been living by these rules. Think about how it rules your world for a sec. How do we know that as we speed through space we are right side up? There is no north and south in space, so you do we know we're not spinning around the sun upside down? Just something to think about. What do you think?

First there are 3 north poles. There is magnetic north which your compass will point to, There is the North Pole the earth rotates on and then there is North which would be the top of the earth as compare to the sun and its orbital plane. We can also refer to north based on the position of the galaxy and assigning one end as North and the other as south. North and south poles are used in navigation after the discovery of the compass needle always pointing north.

What abt the middle dude? besides the regulations may be distinctive if there grew to become right into a hollow, even gravitational rules because it quite is in reaction to shell theorum and the hollow might want the formation of a sparkling formulation or theorum for graviatation in the international, additionally the warmth on the centre does no longer exist (might it?) i do no longer know, if it would then we'd die close to the middle by way of temp develop and additionally might there be any ecosystem there? i do no longer think of so cuz that could additionally replace a lot circumstances in the international. and maximum heavily, if there have been holes in north and south pole, then the magnetic field which saves the earth from radiation from the sunlight does no longer be complete and for this reason we'd quit to exist. so i do no longer know

The distinction of north and south are simply for our own orientation upon the planet. It makes no claim as to what is actually up or down in the universe.

NASA has known since 1982 that the Earth is upside down, but they have suppressed the information to avoid causing a mass exodus to the Southern Hemisphere.

the magnetic field lines are orthagonal to the poles.

by measuring around the magnet, a compass will clearly show that the 'magnetism' shoots out of the south side of the magnet, loops around, and enters the north side. compasses just dont point up and down the earth, they are aligning them selves in the direction of the magnetic 'waves'

as far as labeling, its just arbitrary to call them north and south.

Its pure convention.

Maps used to be aligned with the East - or Orient - at the top, hence the term orientation. (The bottom was the West or Occident).

There is no "up" and "down" in space, so there cannot therefore be "upsidedown" either.
We need directions for convinience, they don't constrict us - they help us find our way around.
