the simple answer is intolerance. after slavery was abolished in this country, former slave owners were angry to say the least. people they had 'owned' for years were suddenly gone. I believe that these people couldn't get past this and continued to treat blacks unfairly. People taught others how to hate for no apparent reason.

It's in our nature to feel superior to others who appear different from us. That is how we validate our existence. It's a shame it still happens but so long as we still think in these narrow terms, we are destined to be prejudiced agst those different from us.

BECAUSE PEOPLE THINK THAT THE WHITES WERE OUT TO KILL THE BLACKS BUT IN TRUE MEANING THE WHITES ALSO KILLED THE WHITES! TO ME PEOPLE ARE PEOPLE!
