It depends upon the stereo, but most factory units have four small holes that a tool goes into to pop it out. If you can't get it out that way, see if a mechanic will pop it out for you, and offer him like 5 bucks.

The holes are the size of a piece of wire, like a little less than coat hanger wire thickness.

Oh, and if it is one of the early Focus models that had a round stereo....good luck. That thing was junk and nearly impossible to replace.

On most fords there should be small holes in the 4 corners of the face of the radio,
About the size of a knitting needle.

You need to ( and this is the tricky part)
Stick the needle or you can use cotter pins, as long as they have the ends filed down to an angle, so they will fit in to the holes and then push them in until you hear or feel it click.

Then you pull the radio strait out, it does take some practice. hope this helps.

Go to the Focus Fanatics website and see if there is any info that can help you. My husband has a Focus and he finds alot of things on there to help answer his questions.

go to the wal-marts or best buy and they sell a tool for 5 bucks to remove ford radios

You see those four holes in the front, they have to be addressed in order for it to come out, They make a special tool for them, but you can rig something up so you could get it out
