i just went for a preliminary trial and the stupid judge sentence me to house arrest before the the real court date caN THEY DO THAT.

the judge can sentence you within the extent of the law before your case is heard by a jury but it would be a hell of a lot eaiser to sit in the slammer b/c you have no temptaion to leave there
